Micromax is a popular brand in India which is known for launching budget Android devices with good specifications under affordable price range. One such device that was launched is Micromax Unite 2. It features a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display (480×800 pixels) and is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6582 processor bundled with 1GB of RAM. For internal storage there are two different variants of it among which one includes 8GB of internal storage and the other includes 4GB of internal storage.



The smartphone includes a 5 MegaPixel auto-focus camera with LED Flash support on the back and a 2 MegaPixel front-facing camera.

On the connectivity front the Micromax Unite 2 includes WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 along with A-GPS and runs on a 2000mAh battery under the hood. The device came preloaded with Android 4.4 KitKat, but was later updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Many users reported to face certain problems with Lollipop and they want to downgrade back to KitKat. So in this guide we will talk on how to downgrade your Micromax Unite 2 from Android 5.0 Lollipop to Android 4.4 KitKat which can be done by installing Stock Kitkat ROM.


Prerequisite:

  1. A Micromax Unite 2 running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
  2. A Computer running Windows on it and a USB cable.

Note: Also this process will erase all the data from your phone so make sure to take backup.

And Make Sure, your device has at least 75% + Battery and enable USB debugging from Developer Options.


How to Downgrade Unite 2 to Kitkat from Lollipop?

  1. Download and install the USB Drivers if they are not already installed.
  2. Download and extract both SP Tools and the Stock ROM on your computer.
  3. Open SP Tools and run the program as administrator by right clicking and choosing it from the menu.
  4. Click on Scatter loading option and SP Tools will ask to choose the scatter file from your computer. Navigate to where you extracted the Stock ROM and choose the scatter file from the Stock ROM folder.
  5. Now select firmware-upgrade from the drop-down menu and turn off your phone and remove its battery and connect it to the computer via USB cable.
  6. Now click on the download button and SP Tools will recognize your phone and the process of installation will start. If it doesn’t detect that means drivers are not properly installed on your computer.
  7. After the process completes, a green ring will appear which means you have successfully installed KitKat on your device. Now you can reboot the device and enjoy using KitKat.
